The Department of Sociology recognizes the growing demand for trained manpower in social service sectors to work as community welfare officers, social development specialists, social workers etc. as well as the need for basic research in Sociology. The Department offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Sociology along with M.Phil. and Ph.D. The Department also offers Career Oriented and Skill Development (COSD-Add On) Course in Research Methodology at Certificate, Diploma and Advanced diploma levels.
