Objective: 

The course plan aims to provide the students with a comprehensive understanding of quantitative data analysis. The course provides exposure to the students to use of statistical package in social sciences.

 

 

  • Meaning functions and abuse of statistics in social work research
  • Frequency distribution types and shapes of distribution

 

 

  • Proportions, percentage and ratios
  • Measures of Variability-Variation Ratio, Index of Qualitative Variation
  • Criteria for selecting useful variability measure.

 

 

 

  • Association: Meaning, Characteristics, Degree, Direction and Nature.

 

 

 

 

  • Inferential Statistics
  • Normal Curve :Meaning and Characteristics
  • Area under Normal Curve, Transforming raw scores to Z scores.

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Software for Higher Statistical Analysis : SPSS and its Applications.
